Love Lies Bleeding Poem by Jack Frost Xellerta

Love Lies Bleeding

Love lies bleeding
Heartbeats away from dying
Wounds raw from slashing
To the finish line dashing

Love lies bleeding
By the roadside begging
Like the proverbial traveller
Robbed of possession
Robbed of dignity
Robbed of pride and ego
Fighting for a breath
Love herein lies bleeding
Life squeezing out
Crying out silently
Pleading with its eyes
Heavy upon the chest
Dragging its body
Willing to live
Strength sapping
Blood dripping
To the ground...
