Love Lingers Poem by Bea Early

Love Lingers

Rating: 5.0

Love lingers, still and long
Like a song that repeats in my mind
Drumming quietly like tinnitus, constant,
Every morning I awake to the rhythm
More quiet at times, but there, incessant.
Reminder of a failed attempt
That will not quit, will not let me go,
Why you? There were so many others
Some kinder, more caring, why is it
Your melody lingers still,
Filling my head with sadness.

Sometimes..we come across a poem that reaches in so deeply and is felt in our very soul, I love when that happens...this is one of those. I love this poem of yours, I'm sure there will be many who can relate. So sadly beautiful. An excellent write.
