the ramblings of a tortured soul
of my pain,
i pray you'll never know
of what has been
and what will be
in my misery you'll surely see

a black heart
cold as ice
love, you see
was not be nice

if it's not working
and doesn't feel right
is it love?
you best think twice

don't let someone
drag you down
i should have learned
the first time around

i now know
i should have let go
but lessons of the past
sometimes are hard to grasp

as with hindsight
it's now clear to me
that what we had
should never be
