I am not afraid of dying
And honestly, I could do with the peace
Of leaving the world and ne’er crying
Or having to chose the caprice.
To suffer no more from winter‘s cold
Summer’s heat or autumn’s wake;
With these offerings, death has me sold
But there are some things I cannot take.
I cannot fathom no more spring:
The seedlings peeping from the earth
(On second thought, news from below they bring)
And they seem to treasure their rebirth
For they do grow with much zeal;
But of all, one thing I would truly miss,
I know because fleeting death revealed
I cannot be without my lover's kiss
So wherever death is, where I will be
I will be troubled without you;
That would be death in death for me
And in that stage I’ll always be blue
So winter’s cold and summer’s heat
I gladly bear to have your love;
With all things, it makes life a treat,
So thank you for giving me your love.
