Love Me Not Poem by Stephanie West

Love Me Not

Black lace, dark thoughts
Your image waiting in my mind until it rots
Random kisses, smoking in the rain
How was I meant to know our love would drive me insane?

The darkest romance you could ever find
No passion, no hand intertwined
It was never meant to happen, when those words came out your mouth
I should have known from the our romance would go south

Vulnerable I was and hurt I became
From now on, my trust will never be the same
We had our own love as dark as it was
Wrapped in your arms that slowly became claws

Though it all, I learned a lot
How to trust and how to not
I will always look back and I will always care
To another world, my love. This is our prayer

Love me not now but maybe tomorrow
Trust me enough to add to our sorrow
I'll take it away enough for you to see
Into my eyes, into the heart of me
I love you so lets meet again
To another failed attempt, we say amen
