Love Rain Poem by Suhad Salih Abubakar

Love Rain

The clouds were light and bright
The patterns were of dazzling blue
The contours were of creamy white
But that dawn I awoke with the dew
So fresh yet so mesmerizing cool
Though the night before was filled with mirth
Nightmares and uncontrolled saliva drool
I looked at the skies and it assures me of a new birth

Then as I walked I bumped into the most
Amazing yet unsophisticated creature
She gazed at me as though I was the coast
She left in my heart an indelible indenture
Then i knew my fate had been rewritten
From the mirth of the previous night
From the gloom of the night yet to be forgotten
To the perfect blossoming morning light

Then as she walked pass me
I heard the cracking of the skies
And I raised my head to the heavens to see
If it truly heard my silent cries
Then from nowhere the showers poured
Then the drops unceasingly could not refrain
As I turned to look her direction the skies roared
And I could tell it was indeed love rain
