Love’s Been Good To Me Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

I travelled down a narrow path.
I did not love or try.
But then I took a sidewards glance,
When you girl caught my eye.

The shape of things I knew too well,
Began to turn and change.
I knew right then that my whole world
Would never be the same.

My love for you is deeper
Than the universe is wide.
So for me there really is no joy
Unless I’m standing by your side.

The shape of things we cannot see,
The shape of things to come,
In giving my life for you to shape
Is all because of love.

When looking forward on the path of life,
Sometime’s it is hard to see.
But I can say because of you
That life’s been good to me!
