Love's Checkmate Poem by Subrat Pradhan

Love's Checkmate

And somehow I fell into your love
When I felt that
The world has changed a lot for me
My perception, my behaviour
My thought and my being entire
I was loosing all my senses
To the very thought
I am in love
How so? unknown to me.

I took sometime to tell you
That
I know
So many were in the queue
It took some time for me
To decide
How to tell you
In between
I came more about you
And likings
But I still had not told you that

And finally the day came
When you were all alone
down the the hill
on the road by the riverside
The sun was on its way down west.
You were coming as a fairy
Descending on the earth
With her overclothing snowy skirt
I came face to face with you
With so many tumultations within
I handed over the bunch of floweers
As politely as I could
The flowers laughed heartily as they could
Before you vanish I made haste
I opened my heart
You aghast put a smile
On your smile
Looked at me with kindness
You opened your heart then
You love someone else
He loves someone else
So you can't accept mine
You disappeared as the sun
In the west
I was listening to my heart's throb
Standing there being
In the position of checkmate
As she was...
