Love Sonnet 95: 'When Good Fortune Eludes A Caring Heart, '

When Good Fortune Eludes A Caring Heart,
And love, or lack thereof, causes a blight,
The lovers sworn to vow that's torn apart,
Will hardly keep their joys from taking flight;
Remembered tenderness of happier days,
Intensifies the pains of loneliness,
The dearth of ardent arms to hold relays
A sense of loss, despair and emptiness;
Such fate befalls a heart disgraced by fault,
Not its own, but of vagary of life,
That on the mirth mounts an assault,
Inflicting souls caught haplessly in strife;
.......On such days frozen crisp with joys intact,
.......Will fortune stay, and never would detract?
