Love Story (3) Around The World In Wheelchair. Poem by U Win Kyi

Chang and Chen
are a couple,
loving each other,
nothing could compare.
Staying together 31 years in marital life,
he is a caring husband and she is a travel-happy wife.
For the past 13 years, she has been bedridden,
Now only movement with eye-blink and right toe flickers.
She has been suffering from Motor Neurone Disease,
which has no cure or relief.
Because the neurones begin to slowly die,
the muscles become weak and movement no more agile.
When swallowing and breathing becomes difficult,
it is a bad sign of nearing death

To 12 countries in 13 years,
a distance of 270,000 miles they had travelled,
about 7 times around the world in wheelchair.

They have been to China with Great Wall,
one of World Wonders and awes.
They have been to ancient Egypt,
a land of Mummies, Sphinx and Pyramid.
They have been to New Zealand,
both north and south islands,
with its beauty of nature,
as seen in ' Lord of the Ring ' in movie theatre.
They have been to Japan,
an economic monster,
with its Sumo wrestler and Kimono-clad Geisher.
They have been to Thai,
a land of smile,
where kick-boxers fight fierce and bloody,
where trans-sex beauties contest in Ms Tiffany.
They have been on the Mexico cruise,
where excitement would run loose.
They have been to other countries,
like Nepal, India,
South Africa, Malaysia,
North korea and Mongolia.
Their next destination will be Europe and Italy,
with their architectural mystery.

If the wife wants to go to the moon,
I am sure the husband would agree very soon.
