Love Story Poem by Katniss Everdeen

Love Story

'I promise, ' She said with cheer
'That all my cuts will disappear'
I look at her face; She seems sincere
But in her eyes, I see a tear

She walks with us a little more
'Till I turn 'round to see her slumped right on the floor
Her tears are running, more and more
As I see HIM and HER walking through the door

**************************************************

'I promise' I say with cheer
'That all my cuts will disappear'
I know I'm lying, but I try to look sincere
I know in my eyes, there are tears

With my fingers crossed, unseen by him
I try to give my biggest grin
There's always gonna be slices on my skin
But now, they're going to be more hidden

I follow them round, missing him all the way
Then suddenly, I see them, I start to pray
Don't let it be them, I don't want to be betrayed
By the one I loved more and more, each day

But alas, it's true. He's with another girl
And with that, my head starts to whirl
'Round and 'round spins the world
'Till I'm down on my knees, about to hurl

I feel strong hands holding me close
As my face, I try to compose
I try to lie, but everyone knows
That I love him, I knew too, I suppose

I force a smile, and go to leave
Run back home, in order to grieve
I grab the knife, and lift up my sleeve
Everythings okay now, the pain will recede

*********************************************************************

I follow her home, to make sure she's okay
Make sure that she'll live another day
I love her more than words could say
But I can't think of that now, I can't be led astray

I get to her home, and climb through the window
On the floor, a pool of blood, and it grows
And in the middle, a girl with hair that flows
Around her face; A gloden halo

***************************************************

I hear a person in my room
As I lay in my personal tomb
Suffocating in all of my gloom
As I feel death, it starts to consume

*****************************************************

A gentle kiss, placed on her lips, so blue
I hold her still, 'till her breaths come far and few
I get up, and say to her, 'I love you'
And with a parting breath, I hear the words 'I love you too'
