Love Supplicated Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

Love Supplicated

Rating: 5.0

Somewhere in the Ancient Mediterranean,
in a classical time unknown to me.
I made supplication to Achaean pagan gods;
after pouring a libation to bride-priced thee.

I poured appropriately a fine red wine,
upon breaking seal, of an earth fired amphora;
upon the waters of a wine dark sea,
as solemn sacrifice, to consummate love, outlasting mortality.

I prayed to supplicated, foam-born, yellow-haired Aphrodite;
asking for desired, eternal love blessed thee.
I prayed to the three dread, life measuring, fate spinning sisters;
asking wealth, health, happiness; long life, for honoured thee.

I took crafted necklace and bracelet, of emeralds and diamonds,
and made sacrificial offering into the wine dark sea;
light sparkled momentarily upon sacrificial diamonds,
as they gleamed, sinking into depths; of an ancient wine dark sea.

Great writing opens a sky wide to imagine another sphere of time. Such unique passion of a poetic soul who has no bound to swim the Ocean of infinite time or fourth dimensional territory. Fantastic imagery erects the spine of a reader to stand straight to look at the time past and the time future...the passion of achieving the height of a birth and to be tranquil by realising truly that we are strictly......... sinking into depths; of an ancient wine dark sea........... Thanks for sharing..............................Regards, Pranab k c
