Love Unsurpassed Poem by Rik Bertrand

Love Unsurpassed

I have only you that I can trust,
And my words will be just.
Hear me and know that I am true
Is it now and forever, that I must be blue?

I look up and I see your tiny little eyes,
They stare back at me with loving ties.
I know that you will comfort my fears,
And with your feathers wipe my tears.

My tiny little bird, my savior in so many ways,
My only friend in life, my warrior to end of days.
I tell you my secrets, my thoughts and my Dreams,
And you listen, and chirp; in answer it seems.

Are you more that what you appear to be,
Are you my Prince trapped by a witch's decree?
Does that little heart that pounds so fast,
Hold Love that cannot be unsurpassed?

Aww, my little one so pretty so fine,
You listen so well and you are so divine.
Forever we are here, alone but together,
We shall muster our love, as our life does tether.
