Lover Poem by Emma R. Kessler

Lover

Rating: 3.5

If you've had Jack to back you up as you sat in an empty room,
Nicotine buzz hanging over you.
If you've slid to sleep on a pill assisted peace,
I'm sorry for you girl cause the same hurt is killing me.

Damn it why'd you have to take that away from me?
I used to dance
Half gone Bud in my hand, finally happy
Couldn't you leave me just that little bit of peace?
I know it's not your fault
But God all I want
Is to escape some of this pain
Just want someone to take it away
But Jack and Jose and every long day
Only make me want you more
Oh Lover
