Lovers Eternal Poem by Josh Alfred

Lovers Eternal

We met in the garden of sin
And bit down on the fruit of lust
The red aura we once loved in
Rose up from the passions of dust
Ageless beings of the carnal
Naked, as nature's autumn trees
Cut off from the sweet eternal
For we were tempted and deceived
A serpent's words were elusive
The pluck of curiosity
And our impassive attitude
Toward a diviner honesty;
Made us sinners set in the myth
Adam, Eve, male, female,
Lovers eternal, live.
