Lovers In Ice Poem by Seraphine Belle

Lovers In Ice

Her hair streamed
behind her
Sticking out with
Unseen glue

Her eyes wild
as she clenched the frozen walls
Her fingers barely scraping through the layers of winter
Her legs kicking against solid water

He barged in
Salty liquid meeting plain
He hugged the block tight
Wishing his body would crash it down for him
That his fire would boil it all down

For a moment
he almost gave up...

Almost

Then,
his fingers grazed hers
and they fell into an embrace
Herself
an Ice Queen of Summer
Cold no longer
