Lovers Lane Poem by Mick Law

Lovers Lane

So you took all the pain
Whilst I took all the blame
We could not feel the same for coldness you became
I found the courage to refrain
from drenching them with blood red rain
You were un-restrained
I went numb and you flamed
I dug a caring hole and in there drained
And there I remain
Buried and stained
Nothing to gain
In lovers lane
