Lucid Calm Poem by Billy Thompson

Lucid Calm

Rating: 5.0

Read the words in my eyes
Therein you shall see
Dejection and manmade cries
Unrequited reception for me

Feel the current of my path
A burden too heavy to bear
I drown daily in this bath
Desperately grasping for air

Listen to my silent tears
Consistently doused with fire
I grow listless from my fears
My resolve continues dire

Care not of my plight
A blanket I brazenly accept
It was I that sought the light
As lucid calm appears inept
