Lunar Poem by Laura Russell

Lunar

Rating: 4.5

The midnight Moon weaves delicately through a tapestry of night
Illuminating shadows and strangers
Silhoetting wolves and angels.
Pearly lunar cords fall into gentle night in succession
Smothering Earth in enchantment.

With heavenly magick she wraps her translucent skirts about the Earth
Claiming it as child.
To her breast she pulls the sphere of spoiled nature
Soothing away the aches of existance
Nourishing ground and water stripped of nutrition.

'I was born in love with thee', whispers she in soothing tones,
Gently smoothing the scars of humanity from Earth's diminishing face
With fingers of radiance and grace.
Kindly Mother Moon cloaks the dying Earth in her maternity shroud
Feeding lunar love into the child's hungry mouth.
