Magnificent Tears Poem by Elizabeth Jacqueline Mpanga

Magnificent Tears

Tears of pain flow lazily from my eyes
the pain of a love gone sour, parading itself on a blank plump face
plump with emotion of a love let go
loved too hard too long with every ounce and breathe
letting go seemed the harded thing to do
bleeding rivers burst out their banks saturated with regret
washing away the footprints of a love gone
breathless and icy coldness i forge ahead still with deathly determination
vast deserts of emotion now devoid of motion invade my being
i stand in the mirror staring at my face
trying to understand the significance of everything
but it eludes me in the most magnificent way
seeking to find answers to everything i find what i need and not what i sought
my feekle mind boggled, waivers from a lack of understanding
the world always gives you what you need and not what you want
i sought understanding, i found magnificant tears instead
tears of strength, courage and peace
gave me strength to carry on
magnificent tears my miracle
my peace.
