Mahabalipuram Poem by RAVIKIRAN ARAKKAL

Mahabalipuram

Small town with a great past,
Ruled by many kings,
ships of olden age,
Left it's shore
In search of other cultures,
Life seems to be at standstill,
When we see the rock edifices,
The grand temple on sjore,
Telling the past glory,
Lost over a period,
Seeing many kngdoms
Come and go,
Glorifying it more and more,
But now a vistors' spot,
The granduer in tact,
Tried out by the awesome sculptors
Who toiled in heat,
To erect and chisel
The pieces of art,
Time couldn't destroy.
