Mahatma Gandhi021016 Poem by krishnakumar chandrasekar nair

Mahatma Gandhi021016

He walked this hallowed earth then stained red
Soaked in the sweat of martyrs and their blood
One who would not stoop to fight or to kill
But made nonviolence his might and will
With this weapon he made them scoot
Those who came to enslave and to loot
Gandhism and Humanism are brothers true
A logic relevant now for human race of every hue
To make this planet a peaceful place
And for all to live in peace and divine grace….

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
(I wrote this today as an humble offering to the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi whose birthday falls today. He showed that the biggest revolutions that can bring about a massive change can be done by using the lethal weapon of nonviolence or sathyagraha as he called it. The world needs it now more than ever)
