Makarand Poem by Arun Kolatkar

Makarand

Rating: 3.2

Take my shirt off
and go in there to do puja ?
No thanks.

Not me.
But you go right ahead
if that's what you want to do.

Give me the matchbox
before you go,
will you ?

I will be out in the courtyard
where no one will mind it
if I smoke.

Even the worst things can be appealing with brainwashing of young minds. A well written poem of young rebellious nature.

Portrayal of a rebellious adolescent, most probably, since such individuals act without bothering for any one or any thing. Great poem. Worth modern poem of the Day.

A well thought out poem, not every person is the same, difference is always.peeking. CONGRATULATIONS to the family of the late poet. A most deserving poem on being chosen as The Modern Poemn Of the Day. Well conveyed. This is a poem with more meanings, but it's always about two different characters/kinds. A 10 Full Score!

A nice fanciful poem. People are different as lavanders and peonies. One may be happy and contented by praying the god whereas others my enjoy solitude.

The poem reveals the character of a male chauvinist or a free-loader Thanks.
