Make This The Year, Lord Poem by Keith Langdon

Make This The Year, Lord

Rating: 5.0

Make this the year, Lord, about to commence,
when promises made are no more future tense,
when positive changes and goals of the heart
go beyond conversation and actually start.

Make this the year, Lord, when for the first time
the mountain before us is actually climbed,
when difficult challenges boldly are faced,
and others’ offenses and hurts are erased.

Make this the year, Lord, as never before,
when being Your child is a joy, not a chore.
Make this the year when a hunger and thirst
for Your word and Your Spirit make our hearts burst.

And make this the year, Lord, devoid of regret,
when others will learn through our lives of the debt
that was paid by the blood of the crucified Son,
who exchanged His clay shell for a glorified one.

Make this the year, Lord, through pleasure and pain,
when though we desire Your returning again,
we value each day as a treasure brand new,
and we seek to live lives that are molded by You.
