Mama, I Love You Poem by swabi mnisi

Mama, I Love You

My love for you precedes;
The now wrinkling hands that where once smooth,
The cocky voice that was once sooth,
The flaccid breast that where once firm,
And all that you have become

To me, you are never a has been
But, an ever present, kind and loving mother
A once teenager that gave birth to the giant I am today
Mama, I love you

All flaws and pains that kept knocking on our door
They never kept you down on the floor
You always rise like a phoenix and impacts like dynamite

Despite your flaws and shortcomings
You are still the best for me
Mama, I love you and thank you
For the man I turned to be
