Mamihlapinatapai Poem by Sasha Ioffine

Mamihlapinatapai

I didn't want to talk at all,
For beauty you possess
Can't measure up to broken speech
Of my linguistic mess

I stuttered every word I said
And looked upon my shoes
For rarely do I speak to girls-
I'm often a recluse

But you had listened to my speech
Though broken as can be
As you replied with kinder tone,
And just as shy as me:

Our speech could not contain our dreams
When our eyes briefly locked,
For lips of ours could say much more
Than when we both had talked
