Man And Nature Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Man And Nature

Man and nature

“Soon I will be mother.
There, he is my husband.
You call him ‘The rapist’.
My breasts are grown.
Genitals have full hair.
My body menstruates.
In tummy I have fetus.
I’m mature.
You call him a rapist.
In your eye I’m a child.”

In Malay she murmured;
She shouted in the court.

“Maturity in your law
Defined as ‘Turn eighteen’
Malaysian says ‘sixteen’
You are both crazy
Tell me how it may work
One sleeps a year young
Overnight turn mature!
My body, my fetus and
Nature, all agree I’m mature
But not you; who are you? ”
