Many Things That I Regret Poem by Kevin Patrick

Many Things That I Regret

Rating: 5.0

There are many things that I regret

Like
Blowing my nose
And observing the contents
of the tissue sheet paper
Just to see the colour
Of my nasals mucous
And the interesting shape
That it takes
When ejected
From both of my nostrils
(Snowman yellow)

Or
Putting my fingers
in the Peanut butter Jar
To taste the paste nectar
on my finger tip prints
As the little brown glue
Sticks onto my flesh
And I lick for a bit
To enhance the flavour
That sweetens my lip

(After I have cleaned my hands from the handkerchief of course)

Perhaps its
Dancing on the roof
On Saturday morning
At the crack before dawn
As mine starts to fawn
Wearing only underwear
Hoping someone will watch
As I march around the gable
To an audience of one
In a very crowded stable

(My heads a country of euphemisms)

I regret lots of things

Never acting when I should
To Be the hero of my film
Always waiting for a chance
To complain about the mess
That I create for always waiting
For a date with all my mistakes
And wishing for a past
That is bright retrospect
But grey in circumspect
When I should stay on presents track

Yes
These are things I regret
But the one thing I regret the most
Was not saying I love you to the girl who was my soul

A surprising, yet passionful ending to a graphic, yet skilled yarn themed on Rue...Kevin you pull this off well, with your flair for the poetically far-side! You Rock, mate! ~FjR~
