Marissa Poem by Walter C. Edwards

Marissa

Marissa is her name,
with green eyes,
they sparkle like that of a flame,
as we speak she then asks,
you're are a poet, would you
write a poem about me,
the burning embers,
that smoke with such intensity,
I say maybe someday,
but how can a poet put into,
words of beauty, that is she,
the sweet voice that calls my name,
I do not know Marissa,
I do not know.
