Mask Poem by William Johansen

Mask

Rating: 5.0

Cigarettes, drugs and unwashed hair,
To make it look like you don’t care,
To make it look like you’re not scared,
And to chase away your secret fears.

Desperate, sad, anxious and depressed,
You want to relax but you’re always too stressed,
You want a friend who can tell you what’s going on,
Because you’re confused, and struggling to hold on,

When will you realise, when will you see,
This is not what you want to be!
Take a look at them, then take a look at yourself,
You’re as close to perfect as anybody else,

You can make mistakes, nobody blames you,
We are all human, and we make mistakes too,
Just don’t believe, that we don’t see,
That you know your making them,
And leave them to be.
