Masquerade Poem by G J Salgado

Masquerade

Looking back where we once were.
Finding a way to where we want to be.
Has found me left naked on the floor.
I became your most fondest admirer.
Thinking of ways for you to notice me.
Because it was me that I wanted you to adore.

I will wear the mask of disguise.
Together we can ride the carousel.
A taste of blood within its kiss.
So that I can see the world through your eyes.
It would be a time that you knew well.
I am someone that you will not dismiss.

Soon the hourglass would become a blur.
Attempting to show us the things we couldn't see.
Giving us a place we could explore.
Speechless and breathless it began to slur.
Trapped within a wrath, unable to be free.
With tears of blood it pour.

Astonished as it was taken by surprise.
It spoke of secrets that we knew well.
Floods within something delicious.
Tears of gasoline it soon cries.
Speaking of untold truth we ourselves couldn't tell
Never once accused of being suspicious.

Dancing together among them all.
A taste upon your lips of glycerine.
My dress flowing like a cascade.
Seeing us upon the crystal ball.
Feeling just like a Princess, your Queen.
I am someone that you can parade.
This is who we were meant to be after all.
When the hourglass of time is shattering.
Knowing the truth of what we have made.
Together we will never fall.

Searching for who we once were.
We were noticing things we couldn't see.
It has found us unclothed behind the door.
You became my most fondest admirer.
Becoming things that we could no longer be.
Drinking my blood, it has left you wanting more.
