Materialists

Materialists, they fail to see that joy is not in quantity
And saintly we will only pay for two good shoes for every day
Who cares if they cost the earth?
We get out money's worth.

(Ah the lies we tell ourself to justify our wasting wealth)

Materialists, they rave about the things we cannot live without
And heavanward we saintly sigh when they tell us what to buy
But if savings are already spent,
Can we pay for our luxury rent?

(Ah, the lies we tell ourself-

Listen
Hollow words echoing
In hollow hearts.)
