Matin-Song Poem by John Bannister Tabb

Matin-Song

Arise! Arise!
Dawns not the day without thy wakening eyes;
The mist that on them lies
Delays the blossom of the eastern skies.
'Tis at their light alone the darkness flies,
And Night, despairing, dies;
Behold thine altar free for sacrifice!
Arise! Arise!
