Matrimonial Suit - Sonnet Poem by Ramesh Iyengar

Matrimonial Suit - Sonnet

Matrimonial Dispute - A Sonnet

Fetched to this sub-court, a deep dispute
Marital discord, by husband with entreat
Wedded to a girl, fathered a child
Yet joy and jubilation, it lacked to yield
An angry spat, a bickering, the wife left
To her parental home, repaired in swift
Whereof, this petitioner doth here sued
To re-unite, for a legal restitution prayed
This dais, at length in patience heard this
Either sides, spouses to mouth their wish
And at length, haggled, forth gave counsel
In fine, decreed an order, put down cavel
Thus, this pair fused in sweet conjugation
By a judge, hence worthy of commendation.
