Matryoshka Poem Poem by Jasbir Chatterjee

Matryoshka Poem

Rating: 5.0

Poem 1
Like homeless people,
Poetry turns up,
Quite unexpectedly
At the most unlikely places,
At the most inopportune time...

Poem 2
Recently,
While crossing a busy road,
My gaze fell on a beautiful sunset
And poems began brewing in my mind.
Here they are now.

Poem 3:
For one moment, the traffic stood still.
The Metro rails paused
To catch their breath.
The pedestrians scurried about.
But the Sun did not stop.

Poem 4
Relentlessly,
It carried on
Its daily parade
With great fanfare
In its lovely, orange attire…

Poem 5
Perspective is so terribly cunning.
With its constantly changing shades, angles,
Bends and curves;
Look at this pic here and see how it makes Tiny look Mighty
And Mighty look Tiny.

Poem 6:
Truth, on the other hand, is so terribly truthful.
Like Neem.
Bitter, cutting, scathing,
But honest, clean;
Cleanses you from within...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was inspired by a photo of a beautiful sunset that I witnessed recently. See this pic here. I have given it the title 'Matryoshka Poems' because like a Matryoshka doll, each poem leads to another.

Beautiful gaze of sunset falls with reflection of calm light. And poems begin brewing in my mind amazingly. Very interesting presentation makes this series of tiny poems special of different sequences....10

You have captured the landscape with perfect timing so much so that the reader would be able to re-create its visual effect even without there being any graphics. The mind-scape comes with it as a bonus. Thank you, Jasbir ji.
