May I Poem by Elma M. Rasor

May I

Oh! may I roam God's wooded path?
And climb HIS mountians high
The way I did back in my youth,
E'er 'tis my time to die!
Oh! may I ride on Freedom's Train
Just to see the wonders from there
And view the cataclysmic rites,
That in my life I'd share!
And may I know a friend so true?
Who'll trudge along with me
To guide my footsteps evermore
'Neath God's own Forest Trees!
And may I pray HE keep him safe?
From what the world does belie
And all that far-reaching strife
Does end - e'en though I die!
Yes! may I roam God's wooded lane?
Just to know the joy of LOVE
And to realize my precious one
Watches from up above!
