May I Hold You Poem by Tim Roper

May I Hold You

May I hold you Sweet, close and tight?
Not long Dear, just 'till forever comes.
Please shelter here 'till the end of night,
Until darkness to eternal light succumbs.

So little to ask of love so true and bold,
As night, and day, and night will bring eternity,
To have you near so that I may hold,
In my arms this love, sweet love, so dear to me.

Will you too, shelter me from bitter cold?
I need you Sweet, you're all I know.
Take me please, in your loving arms to hold;
I beg you please, Darling, please don't let go!

Sold cold the hours 'till the end of night,
When darkness to eternal light succumbs.
So my Love, may I hold you close and tight?
Not long Dear, just 'till forever comes.
