Me! Poem by Brooke Luchich

Describe myself? Well, that isn’t really the easiest thing for me to do,
I guess I can say what I think and then leave the rest up to you.
I love playing in the rain and I can’t stand watching people cry,
Being random and breaking rules, for me, is a natural high.
I love it when people sing to me or say that they’ve missed me,
Compliments make me uncomfortable no matter what they may be.
Music is my escape and my niece and nephew always brighten my day,
When I cry, I hate it when people tell me everything will be okay.
The whole concept of love means nothing to me and trust is a big thing,
I can’t stand horrible people and all the problems that they bring.
I love music blasting in the car and driving around aimlessly,
I hate that all the beautiful dreams I have can’t be turned into reality.
My friends mean the absolute world to me; they’re like my safety net,
I’m not one to give up, even on the things I know I’ll never get.
I love the smell of the ocean, rain, freshly mowed grass and clean clothes,
My family isn’t perfect but if I’d had the choice, they’re who I would’ve chose.
My best poetry is from things I’ve experienced and none of them are fake,
You could get me to do anything for mums lasagne and potato bake.
My niece and nephews laughter is by far my favourite sound,
I’m not one of those girls who gets treated badly and still sticks around.
I’ve made a lot of mistakes but still there’s nothing that I regret,
I wish my memory wasn’t as good because there’s so much I’d like to forget.
Kisses and cuddles are one of those little things that can make my day,
I love it when people get nervous and stutter over what they’re trying to say.
