Cold was the night
Deep was the fog
Time stood still
For me and my dog

Running away
From tortures within
So haunted I am
From life’s lonely sins

Dreams standing still
Deep in my heart
Can’t stand it no more
Just need a new start

Dog is the one
To whom I can feel
Will love me no matter
What hopes I fulfill

So I’ll take me some time
And do it my way
Hoping the Lord will guide me
At the end of the day.
