Me And My Dragonfly Poem by Toshie Nohara

Me And My Dragonfly

My eyes glues to the tip of
the tail of the
dragonfly
ignoring the colorful
butterfly

My gentle hand reaches out to
catch my cute
dragonfly
But lo and behold!
It flew away

Undaunted, I trailed
Like an 'expert' insect admirer
My eyes following
The dragonfly on the leaf
Quietly, I tried to catch it
But lo and behold!
It flew away again

'Don't be afraid my pet'
I am crazy over you
Please let me just caress you
My beloved dragonfly'

But
The dragonfly just flew to the red
rose and
stopped there
It heard not my sincere message of love
Perhaps it was cruising in the
garden
Trying to compete with the dove
for fresh air and sunlight

I paused
Wow, I gently put my
hand on my
precious dragonfly

What happiness!
It welcomed me

Observing its loviness
talking to it for a moment
I set it FREE

That's me and my dragonfly
That's my joy
In my childhood, .
