Meat Poem by Izik Alcox

Meat

Why am I seen for this supposed outer beauty
My inner self is ignored by ones so snooty
Thinking of me as merely a piece of meat
My soul they ignore, abuse and cheat
It isn't just women who get viewed like this
Sedated and lured in by the poisonous kiss
That takes and takes but never gives
My love seems to just poor through sieves
Never really accepted
Alone never intercepted
Why is it the nice people get abused
Us fools, letting ourselves get bruised
Time and time again
Allowing the pain
Do we like it
Why don't we quit
Is there any hope
Must I just cope
Silently I await
seeking my soul mate
Will I continue as bait
Or will I be shinned on by fate
