Medusa Poem by Alexander Roussel

Medusa

Corpse-cold glare
Writhing with agony and hate,
Desires for concrete companions alone dowse
Unrivalled fury,
Heat, heat –– like some electric cattle prod
Hisses,
Screaming out from angry ears,
Restless mind slithers,
Scales and fangs replace
Neurons and grey brain,
Slinking onward into the dusk,
Regretful of none of it ––
Medusa moves onward,
Unsatisfied.
