Mefistophales Poem by Morgan Michaels

Mefistophales

'I am He (said he)
who always denies.
Wheresoe'er I go, disaster multiplies:
I 'just say nay' advise-

Safe, but impractical

'Nay', said his feathered other,
(the word tasting sour in his mouth)
'I say compromise,
and 'yay', advise;
that, where you go, disaster dies-

Silly, but workable.
