MELVIN JR'S BIRTHDAY
(October 14,1998)

M-y son akin to my name
Smiled at me so tamed
then whispered to me gently
Today is my birth from thee.

E-ntwined with such smile
I embraced him for a while
then said, thank the Lord then
For the Life he had given.

L-et your heart thank fervently
God for His grace and mercy
That another year had passed
without much problem to surpass.

V-erily, I proclaimed unto thee
I can't give you even a penny
for as you see, we're in a mess
but I'll pray for your success.

I can only give you a promise
I'll work hard to give you this
' Your education as my gift'
you need to withstand rifts.

N-othing I can really offer
but my continued vow forever
to build you the man I do want
As a prudent God's servant.
