Memoirs Of A Nightingale (P.102) Poem by Phoebe Lichten

Memoirs Of A Nightingale (P.102)

Rating: 5.0

I remember the day I first saw him
The tall man with green eyes
Our eyes met and I fell in love
It will remain that way until my demise

But, today is filled with sorrow
There is a pain I cannot explain
My heart is bleeding for the man
That I sat with and held in the rain

He enjoys inflicting pain
With a soul once sweet
Now turned to a blackened rose
Darkness I cannot defeat and I fear will never go

Despite what I have learned
Still I love him with every part of my soul
The man I want to wrap in my arms
Holding tight to never let go

Maybe such love will change him back to being a sweeter rose - great write.
