As we start this brand new year
Try leave behind sadness and fear
Last year we did so many things
Some bad, some good, just as life brings
With last year rich experience we grew
Meeting people, seeing places new
Our hearts and souls they felt such a lot
New people we met, others weren’t forgot
Some events happened we’d rather forget
Nice things we did, while others we regret
We had so many trials, which kept us strong
Were made humble when things went wrong
Friends they stayed when things were bad
They made us happy helping remove the sad
Keep happy memories close to your heart
Use these as foundations for a fresh start
I hope events that happen in the next year
Will bring much joy make you smile ear to ear
