Memories Of Ice Poem by Marilyn Lott

Memories Of Ice

It’s quite an astonishing thing to see
When ice covers the entire land
It sparkles and it glistens too
And it freezes our feet and hands

It changes the landscape completely
Why, you might not even realize
What block you are on, do you live here?
For it is way too brilliant for your eyes

It is beyond doubt a winter wonderland
And it does look might pretty
As long as you don’t have to move
Very fast in the country or the city

For it truly does slow you down
And things might even get bad
For the electricity may go out
Now that, my friend, is sad

But all you can do is wait it out
Drink hot cider with a pinch of spice
You must keep a warm fire burning
To create pleasant memories of ice!
