Memories Of Past Lost Poem by Tristan Maverick

Memories Of Past Lost

Complete darkness
I am in complete darkness
With my one true fear
And those few short lived flickers
Flickers of a dying candle

Lost in the darkness
Lost within my one true fear
Lost with the love
Love that has become hatred
Lost within the sanity
My sanity that has become chaos

The candle flickers
I see nothing
Nothing but fear
Fear that you have left
Left me here
Helpless with only my fear

The candle was a beacon once
Long ago, a beacon of my love
Of my hopes
Once a beacon that lit my way
Lit my way back to you

Oh how beautiful was the past
My past with so many memories
Memories of love, hate, hope, and loss.
I yearn for my past to become my present,
But alas, that shall not happen until the future.

I am falling
Falling, slipping further into the darkness
Into my fear
Into my nightmare
My nightmare that has finally become reality

Oh how tears burn the soul
How tragic, memories are only,
Only things to hold on to,
Grasp as you slip
Fall further into the darkness
Tumble into my nightmare.

The candle burns again
If only to burn for a moment
How it shows my face
Streaked with the tears
Tears of memories past
Memories that only pain me now
Oh how I’m dying so slowly

Darkness now engulfs
Surrounds me in its terrible embrace
Holding me down
Back from the light
The light where you are
Where you wait

I have not the strength to reach you
To see you again
You who only resides in my memories
Memories of pain
Of fear, of loss

Time mends all
But time only hurts more
For time creates distance between us
Distance which cannot be traveled
For I am lost

You are gone forever
You who resides only in my faint memories
My memories of pain
Of fear, of loss

Of hope

Of love…

This one, like your others is packed with emotion. I like the continuing theme and the use of metaphor is very skillful. Definite 10.
