Memory Poem by Bethany Waters

Memory

Rating: 5.0

Memory’s fickle
A dark, wretched tease.
Abandoning small moments
Ones to which you cleave.

The midnight ride
Ink-blue sky running by
Case aside in favor
Of an unrepressable eye.

Ruthlessly powerful
Memory only seeks to control
To make past and present
Seem to unendingly roll.

Very true. The ability of the human brain to record events and information in the form of memories is remarkable. However, memories that we would rather forget cannot be deleted, and return to haunt us time and time again. Thanks for sharing.
