Memory In Dreams

Reorganizing memory in dreams
enables us to formulate our goal,
creating in our sleep the self that seems
possessor of the paradigm called soul.

Robert Stickgold, a neuroscientist at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, claims that while we sleep we reinforce memories created during our waking hours. This appears to be confirmed by fruitfly experiments performed by Amita Sehgal. Matthew Stickgold of Harvard University has demonstrated that while rats sleep they review in their hippocampus and visual cortex the precise events that occurred to them in a maze on the previous day. I postulate that the what we call our soul is in fact the sleep reinforced memory of ideas that we conceived while we were awake.
